Tour Information

Please join us for some pre-symposium activities with several tours key infrastructure projects. Region 9 and the San Francisco Section of ASCE are proud to offer tours in two locations on Thursday March 22, 2018.



Tour Option 1





SFMTA is proud to showcase the Central Subway Project, a nearly two mile extension of the Muni Metro T line through SoMa, Union Square and Chinatown. This new facility will include four new stations and alleviating flow though one of the busiest areas in the City. Due to limited safety apparatus, this tour is limited to 10. A one hour safety training course will begin promptly at 9 am with the tour to follow.

Tour Option 2: Milpitas





VTA is proud to present the Milpitas BART Station, part of the new 10-mile Berryessa Extension, the first phase of the BART’s 16-mile extension through the Silicon Valley. The station, opening this year, will provide a connection between Santa Clara County and San Francisco in less than one hour. The Milpitas Station is a beacon of sustainability though its design, construction and planned operations by providing a station with improved undoor environmental quality and targeting reductions in energy use, water and waste, and minimized resource consumption. The tour is limited to 25.
